On April 20, 2009, Peter Jassem (my cousin) who was on the Chair of the Toronto Chapter of PJHF, was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland. The ceremony was held in the Polish Consualte General. The award is awarded to people who were distinguished in the cause of furthering goals of Poland. Peter Jassem fostered good relations between the Jews and the Poles.
